Elizabeth founded Eb & Bean in 2014, opening three neighborhood brick and mortars that are still a destination (under different ownership) for made-from-scratch organic froyo and creative toppings. This super fun and challenging experience in hospitality was a near decade-long crash course in how to serve employees and customers with  care.

The experience of buying her first home and a longtime interest in design had her hooked on real estate years ago. Through managing home renovations and commercial build-outs, the fascination grew.

It’s easy to appreciate beautiful homes, but what makes Elizabeth a great real estate broker is how much she enjoys the work, and how invested she is in the absolute best outcome for her clients. Sometimes that looks like spreadsheets and data. Other times it’s a more heart-centered quality. She’s tenacious in assisting buyers with their search, and goes to great lengths with sellers to prep and market their listings for maximum return. The process can be stressful, but it can also be really fun, and she’s here to make it as enjoyable as possible!

Beyond work, Elizabeth is marveling as her 10 and 14-year-old grow up way too fast. She loves seeing live music, spending precious time in the Forest Service cabin she shares with friends, cooking, and volunteering in a leadership role with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.

Her ideal adventure for an urban Portland day: A perfect day in Portland would revolve around food and family. She’d start with coffee at J. Vein and a pastry from Bakeshop, both on NE Sandy. Next, a bike ride along the Alameda and Rose City ridges, or maybe frisbee time at a nearby park with Charlie, her Boston Terrier. Then it’s lunch at Sorbu on NE 42nd, her favorite food cart meal in Portland. A hike followed by excellent pizza is a classic Portland combo: a visit to Forest Park and Scottie’s on NW 21st!

Her superpower: Empathy.

Superpower she wishes she had: The ability to be in two places at once.

Favorite moment/s in real estate: Key day for her first-ever home. That’s just a feeling you never forget, and helping other people experience it is one of the best parts of the job.

Favorite Portland neighborhood, and why? This is such a tough question, in part because she’s fallen in love with lots of neighborhoods over the years as a business owner in Irvington, Richmond, and NW, and as a realtor exploring the Portland Metro area. But Mt Tabor is a favorite among favorites, full of reminders of what makes Portland so lovable: free access to nature so close to our city center, charming homes, and a vibrant community of people and businesses. Happy hour at Bellwether Bar after a Tabor hike is a dream combo!
