Vintage Architecture, Portland Style
ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE CENTER
For anyone interested in vintage Portland, a membership to the Architectural Heritage Center (AHC) is a must. I discovered it a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. It’s a place for everyone who loves structures and history. It’s a non-profit resource center for historic preservation located at 701 SE Grand Avenue. Featuring vintage home tours and on-going classes, you can find everything from a gallery exhibit of crafted architectural parts salvaged from old homes to a lecture about historic home styles in Portland neighborhoods. The AHC sponsors tours such as the Heritage Home Tour and the Kitchen Revival Tour plus has a library for homeowners, preservationists, students and anyone else interested in Portland’s historic preservation and architecture. Check out all their upcoming classes at AHC and join up. Hope to see you at the upcoming lecture “An Insider’s Guide to Portland Architecture and History” on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 10 – 11:30 am.
